RDU Prepares for Winter Storm as Airlines Begin Canceling Flights
RDU AIRPORT, N.C. – In anticipation of the approaching winter storm, more than 115 arrivals and departures to and from Raleigh-Durham International Airport have been canceled for this evening and tomorrow morning. While some airlines with cancellations are currently planning on resuming flights mid- morning tomorrow, passengers with travel plans over the next two days are advised to contact their airline to confirm the status of their flight as more cancellations may occur.
As of 4 p.m. today, 53 arrivals and 12 evening departures had been canceled as airlines have chosen to keep their aircraft out of the forecasted snow and ice. As a result, more than 50 early morning departures have been canceled for tomorrow.
