RDU Parking Rates to Increase January 15, 2001
RDU Airport, NC – A modest increase in parking rates of between $1 and $2 at Raleigh-Durham International Airport will become effective Monday, January 15, 2001. The Airport Authority approved this rate increase, the first in more than two years, at its October 19, 2000 meeting.
The increase is needed to help pay for more than $53 million in parking improvements made during the last two years. In addition, increased revenues generated by the rate increase will also help pay for construction of a second new parking deck slated to begin in March. The next parking deck will contain 6,150 spaces and cost between $120 million and $140 million to build and will take more than three years to complete.
Parking revenues are a key source of funding for the airport.
Parking rates will increase on January 15 as follows:
Hourly Parking Spaces From $18 a day to $24 a day
Park & Ride 1 From $4 a day to $6 a day
Park & Ride 2 From $4 a day to $5 a day
Park & Ride 3 From $3 a day to $5 a day
Park & Ride 4 From $3 a day to $4 a day
Hourly Rate in all lots will REMAIN $1 per hour.
