RDU Launches Shuttle Bus Tracking App
Guests Can Find Bus Locations and Arrival Times
RDU has launched a new bus tracking system that allows airport guests to see where shuttle buses are located and get an estimated time of arrival. The TransLoc app monitors RDU’s fleet of vehicles while they are running routes between the terminals and the Economy 3 parking lot. The app can be downloaded from apple or Google Play.
“RDU has focused in recent years on deploying technology to improve the guest experience,” said Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. “We hope the new shuttle monitoring app will make holiday travel easier and more convenient.”
RDU is managing traffic on the airport campus over the holidays by increasing the presence of law enforcement and traffic control officers, enforcing parking regulations, encouraging the use of the cell phone lot and allowing passengers to be picked up on either level of Terminal 2.
Parking availability is updated continuously on the home page at rdu.com. RDU recommends guests visit the website before they leave for the airport. Once they arrive, they should reference the electronic signs on campus that show whether the garage is open to drive-up customers and which economy lots are available.
