RDU Garage Resurfacing Project Begins
RDU Airport, NC — Beginning this weekend, the oldest portion of the parking garage complex at RDU International Airport will close in preparation for a 90-120-day preventative maintenance project. Signs will route traffic to the remaining 8,800 garage spaces between the terminals.
This section consists of the hourly and daily garage parking closest to Terminal C, which will be closed in order to conduct the restoration work.
All hourly parking will be located on the lower level of the parking garage facility. Daily parking will be available in the more recent addition to the garage on levels 2 through 7.
Due to customer demand, the oldest portion of the parking garage, built between 1987 and1990, require preventative maintenance. The project involves concrete repair, waterproofing, resealing and cleaning. This process will take 90-120 days. At that time the upper levels will reopen.
During peak travel periods throughout the project, parking between the terminals may fill more frequently. Passengers are reminded to read electronic signage upon entering the airport for current parking space availability.
RDU offers over 7,000 parking spaces in Park & Ride 3 and 4 with shuttle bus service between the lots and airline terminals. The shuttle service operates every 15 minutes from the Park & Ride lots, beginning at 4:00 a.m. in Park & Ride 3 and runs 24-hours-a-day in Park & Ride 4.
RDU regrets any inconvenience this may cause passengers.
