RDU Announces New Service to Milwaukee

Nov 10, 2009

RDU Airport, NC – Raleigh-Durham International Airport learned that Midwest Airlines will initiate service between RDU and Milwaukee on April 1, 2010. Midwest will offer the service twice daily on 76-seat Embraer-170 aircraft.

Midwest Airlines, operating as Midwest Connect, offered service between RDU and Milwaukee from 2007 until 2008 and as Midwest Express between 1998 and 2001.

“RDU is happy to welcome Midwest Airlines back to the Research Triangle Region,” said Teresa Damiano, director of marketing for the Airport Authority. “Each year more than 50,000 passengers travel between RDU and Milwaukee. The route provides nonstop service between destinations with related government, education and health care industries, while also providing access to other cities the airline serves in the Midwest and the west coast.”

The news comes on the heels of recent announcements by other airlines offering service at RDU. JetBlue Airways recently announced that it will launch two additional daily flights between RDU and Boston next summer. Southwest Airlines will begin one daily nonstop flight to St. Louis in May 2010.
