RDU Announces Additional Nonstop Service to Fort Lauderdale
JetBlue to begin seasonal service to South Florida destination
RDU Airport, NC – Triangle travelers now have one more option for travel to popular South Florida. JetBlue Airlines today announced it will begin one daily nonstop flight from Raleigh-Durham International Airport to Fort Lauderdale. The flight will begin on January 10, 2008. The seasonal service will be offered through April 30, 2008.
“RDU welcomes JetBlue’s announcement of nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale,” said John Brantley, RDU’s airport director. “The new service offers RDU’s customers a gateway to popular South Florida and more air travel opportunities.”
Each day, over 400 people travel between the Triangle region and South Florida, which includes the popular destinations Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. Airlines at RDU currently offer three daily nonstop flights each to Fort Lauderdale and Miami.
With the addition of service to Fort Lauderdale, JetBlue will offer seven daily departures from RDU. The airline currently flies five daily flights to New York’s LaGuardia airport and one daily flight to Boston.
