Press Release
Midwest Airlines Changes Name to Frontier
Sep 29, 2010
RDU Airport, NC – On Friday, Oct. 1, Midwest Airlines at Raleigh-Durham International Airport will officially change its name to Frontier Airlines. The airline will continue to offer two daily departures to Milwaukee, Wi. and to operate from Terminal 2.
Signs at the airport will reflect the airline’s name change.
Last summer, Republic Airways Holdings purchased Midwest and then bought Frontier Airlines in October. The name change was announced in April.
Frontier will continue to serve the warm chocolate chip cookies Midwest was known for.
Frontier is famous for its “spokesanimals,” such as Larry the Lynx and Grizwald the Bear, which are featured on the tails of the company’s aircraft and in advertising campaigns.
