Construction Alert: Detour to Rental Car Road to Begin Sunday

RDU Airport, NC – A five-day project to rebuild RDU's Rental Car Road will create a temporary traffic shift for motorists. A portion of the road will close, and new traffic patterns will be introduced. The construction project will begin early Sunday morning, October 23, and be completed by the end of the week.

Access to rental car agencies will be maintained but entrances and exits may be temporarily relocated.

All traffic will be rerouted to nearby Cedar Fork Road, which will serve as the temporary route to rental car companies, the return route to the terminal area and highway access. Signage along the construction area will guide motorists.

The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority regrets any inconvenience this road maintenance may cause. Crews will be working around the clock to complete the project as quickly as possible.
