Children’s Book Author to Visit Raleigh-Durham International Airport

Book tells the story of Signal the Cat’s airport adventure

RDU Airport, NC – On Friday, November 9, author Stormy Friday will sign copies of her book “Signal’s Airport Adventure” at Raleigh-Durham International Airport. The book signing will take place at Borders Books from 9 a.m. – noon. The store is located on the Terminal A concourse.

The children’s book is the first in a series that chronicles the adventures of two British Shorthair kittens, Signal and Telegraph. The book uses the cats’ adventure in the airport to prepare children for an airplane trip.

Officials from the Transportation Security Administration will be on hand to “wand” child passengers with a hand-held security scanner. They will also answer questions about airport security procedures.

The signing comes just one week before the busy Thanksgiving holiday travel period kicks off at RDU. The holidays are a popular travel time for families. RDU recommends that families prepare their small children for the trip by explaining the security screening process ahead of their departure.
