American Airlines to Begin Daily Service to Los Angeles in April 2013
RDU Airport, NC – American Airlines today announced it will launch daily non-stop service between RDU and Los Angeles International Airport on April 2, 2013. Tickets go on sale, and flight times will be posted, on Sunday, Dec. 23.
“Approximately 150,000 people travel to and from our region to the Los Angeles basin each day. This flight will go a long way to meeting the demand for service from RDU to the West Coast,” said Teresa Damiano, deputy airport director for marketing and customer service. “It also says a lot about American’s confidence in our region that it designated RDU as part of its expansion of service to its five hubs.”
American Airlines will operate the service on its Boeing 737-800 featuring the Boeing Sky Interior andMain Cabin Extra feature, which enhance the passenger on-flight experience.
The flight is the second from RDU to serve Los Angeles. Since 2006, Delta has offered seasonal, several times weekly service, between the two cities..
