Clearvision Brings a New TV Experience to RDU

Mar 25, 2013

The other day, I stopped in Hudson Aeromart in Terminal 2, grabbed a Neomonde wrap and found a place to sit at an empty gate. Then, I plopped down to watch TV. I had important research to do, and I thought it best to get comfy. After all, it was lunchtime and I needed to learn more about RDU’s new in-terminal TV provider, Clearvision.

In the 30 minutes that I spent watching Clearvision, I was struck by the variety of programming our customers now have access to. I caught the last half of a “behind-the-scenes” making of a documentary film. I then got caught up on national weather via Accuweather. Then, I watched a Golf Channel segment on how to improve your golf swing.

I also received a local weather update from WRAL-TV, followed by the station’s popular Tarheel Traveler segment featuring a diner in Goldsboro. As I was leaving, a popular chef from The Cooking Channel was demonstrating new techniques. All the while, travel delays and headlines scrolled across the bottom  of the screen, while weather information appeared on the right.

This type of variety is what you’ll find the next time you travel through RDU. Clearvision partners with local and national networks to deliver “minisodes” to your waiting area. These are smaller snippets of television shows, news programs and sports coverage that are packaged with local and national weather and news updates. In addition to the programming I happened to catch, you might also see minisodes from sources such as:

  • ABC, CBS and NBC
  • Bravo
  • HGTV
  • Major League Baseball
  • NBC Sports
  • Travel Channel
  • Universal Music Group
  • VH1
  • Weather Channel

One thing that we’re excited about is that Clearvision is growing. We’re only the second airport in the U.S., along with New Orleans, to offer the service. As Clearvision grows, they’ll be expanding their collection of minisodes. We’re also working to provide more highlights of popular local sports games and other local interest programs.

In the meantime, grab something from one of The Shops of RDU, sit back, relax and enjoy your new Clearvision TV experience while you wait for your flight!
