American Airlines Announces Service From RDU to San Jose and San Juan
RDU Airport, NC – American Airlines yesterday announced that it will begin new daily nonstop service between RDU and San Juan, Puerto Rico on December 15. The airline will also launch daily nonstop service between RDU and San Jose, California on March 2, 2003.
"We're providing flights to the places people want to fly," said Henry Joyner, American's senior vice president of planning. "And we're bringing along More Room Through Coach assigned seating, the world's most extensive travel awards program and an unparalleled route system at no extra charge."
San Jose is a popular business destination for the Triangle-area's hi-tech companies," said RDU Airport Director John Brantley, "American's new service opens the door for the region's travelers who want a direct route to the West Coast.
The third largest city in California, San Jose is the capital of Silicon Valley, although its balmy weather and focus on cultural arts means there is more to do than simply plugging in a laptop.
Leisure travelers heading to San Juan can follow Christopher Columbus' footsteps onto the beaches of Puerto Rico or spend days soaking up the diversity of four cultures on this tropical island paradise.
American will offer its nonstop service to both destinations onboard the Boeing 737-800, which features seating for 20 First Class and 114 More Room Throughout Coach passengers.
