AirTran Jet Connect Begins Service at RDU
RDU Airport, NC – AirTran Airways this week added two daily nonstop flights to Atlanta as AirTran Jet Connect. Air Wisconsin Airlines, AirTran’s commuter partner, will operate the 50-passenger planes. With the added service, AirTran now offers six daily departures from RDU to its hub in Atlanta.
In 2001, Atlanta was the most popular destination for Triangle travelers. RDU now offers 17 daily departures to Atlanta.
AirTran Jet Connect’s schedule is as follows:
RDU to Atlanta
Departs: 10:05 a.m.
Arrives: 11:29 a.m.
Departs: 5:25 p.m.
Arrives: 6:45 p.m.
Atlanta to RDU
Departs: 8:20 a.m.
Arrives: 9:40 a.m.
Departs: 3:45 p.m.
Arrives: 5:00 p.m.
AirTran launched AirTran Jet Connect in November 2002. The regional jet operation is operated by Air Wisconsin, which will also offer service at RDU in April as part of its partnership with United Express. It will continue service for United Airlines to Washington Dulles and Chicago O’Hare.
