Aircraft Noise at RDU

Note: Runway 5L-23R will be closed weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., beginning April 4, 2024 and ending May 3, 2024. This scheduled closure for maintenance will cause temporary changes to the arriving and departing flight paths at RDU.

Through the cooperative efforts of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), airlines and the community, the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority (Authority) strives to make the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) both a good neighbor and economic engine for the Triangle Region.

Part of the Authority's commitment to making RDU a good neighbor for the community is to provide citizens with easy access to relevant resources and information regarding aircraft flight paths and aircraft noise abatement at RDU. RDU's noise webpage also allows users to view current and historic aircraft flight paths and submit a noise inquiry or complaint.
