Exemplifying Customer Service: RDU’s 2012 Employee of the Year

Jan 18, 2013

I work with a fantastic team of people here at the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority and am continually amazed by how hard they work to make RDU a world-class airport.

Each year, RDU employees recognize the hard work of our colleagues by nominating their co-workers for our annual Employee of the Year award. This peer-nominated, peer-selected award means a lot around here. It’s a tough pick, because every day you will find RDU employees going above and beyond, whether it means lending a personal cell phone to a traveler to make a call or helping a passenger take luggage to their car.

This year, RDU’s 2012 Employee of the Year was awarded to Customer Relations Specialist Warren Creech, who has worked with us since 1992.

The nature of Warren’s job is critical to providing exceptional customer service as he serves as a liaison between customers and the Airport Authority; however, it is how Warren takes going above-and-beyond to a whole new level that has earned him this year's Employee of the Year Award.

From changing a passenger’s flat tire at the Terminal 2 curb, digging through the garbage to find a lost wallet and answering more than 1,200 customer questions in half the time of the 48-hour standard, Warren is always found helping our customers. RDU employees rely on his insight and working knowledge of the airport, and his positive attitude is contagious.

When Warren is not at work, his volunteer efforts are making a real difference in his local community. Along with a group of friends from his church, Warren organized a school supply drive for Corinth-Holders Elementary School and helped start the Building323 Food Pantry which provides food to 45 – 50 families each week in the Knightdale and Zebulon communities.

With over 20 years of service at the Airport Authority, Warren is a leader in providing world-class customer service and is a deserving recipient of this award. Congratulations, Warren!
