American and American Eagle Announce New Service to Three Cities and Larger Planes to Popular Destinations

RDU Airport, NC – Beginning May 1, 2007, American Eagle will add new nonstop service from Raleigh-Durham International Airport to three new cities. American will begin using larger planes to popular business and leisure destinations on April 10, 2007.

American Eagle will operate two daily nonstop flights each to Louisville, KY, Jacksonville, FL and Kansas City, MO using 37-seat and 44-seat Embraer jets.

American will add one daily nonstop flight from RDU to New York LaGuardia using an MD80 (130 seats) aircraft, with American Eagle keeping eight flights between the two airports. Also, American will operate MD80 aircraft to replace American Eagle on the Raleigh/Durham to Austin, Texas, route.

With the additions, American and American Eagle will have 67 daily flights at RDU to 16 different destinations, the most of any carrier.
